BitTorrent Sync Alpha Now Open To All
BitTorrent is opening its new syncing tool called BitTorrent Sync to everyone.
Announced in January and since then opened up as a pre-Alpha program,
Sync is unlimited, secure file-syncing based on the P2P technology. You can use it for remote backup. Or, you can use it to transfer large folders of personal media between users and machines; editors and collaborators.
Since Sync is based on P2P and doesnt require a pit-stop in the cloud, you can transfer files at the maximum speed supported by your network.
File transfers are encrypted ad your information is never stored on a server in the cloud; your data is protected by encrypted keys.
BitTorrent Sync is specifically designed to handle large files, so you can sync original, high quality, uncompressed files.
Since the pre-Alpha program, BitTorrent's team has also added a few features and fixes:
- One-way synchronization
- One-time secrets
- Option to exclude specific files/directories
- Advanced preferences configuration
- Support for additional types of NAS devices
- Improved Linux WebUI
- Bug fixes and other improvements
