Crucial DDR5 Pro OC 32GB 6000
1. Introduction / Retail Package
Crucial recently introduced a new series called "PRO" that boosted memory frequencies from 5200MHz up to 5600MHz and we have already tested this kit with very good results and impressions. Now, Crucial/Micron introduces a new series with even higher frequencies and tighter memory timings, the DDR5 Pro OC memory series available in 16GB densities up to 6,000MT/s,
The new series promises to deliver higher performance, lower latencies, and better bandwidth to fuel gaming wins and reduce performance bottlenecks. All Crucial DDR5 DRAM modules are compatible with the latest DDR5 Intel and AMD CPUs and support both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO specifications on every module, eliminating compatibility hassles.
The Crucial DDR5 Pro Memory: Overclocking Edition delivers:
- 36-38-38-80 extended timings for 25% lower latency than Crucial DDR5 Pro Memory Plug and Play Edition
- Elegant, origami-inspired aluminum heat spreader to complement a variety of gaming rigs
- Higher frame rates for serious 1080p and 1440p resolution gaming on memory-intensive titles like Rainbow Six® Siege, Forza™ Horizon 4, Horizon Zero Dawn™, Cyberpunk 2077®, Hogwarts Legacy™, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered or Forespoken™
- Universal compatibility with DDR5-based Intel Core 12th to 14th Gen desktop CPUs and AMD Ryzen 7000 to 8000G Series desktop CPUs
Additionally, Crucial has fine-tuned all XMP 3.0 and EXPO memory profiles to maximize CPU compatibility without compromising overclocking stability and performance. Activating one of these pre-tuned profiles is necessary to overclocking the CPU and memory and is the easiest way to achieve maximum performance.

The DDR5-6000 2X16GB Kit Pro OC kit can be bought online at Crucial.com at the retail price of $169.99. That price can be compared with other 32GB 6000MHz kits. Such kits are the de facto standard for today's PC systems, and if you are working with Photoshop and other "creator" software you should consider upgrading to 64GB. The Crucial DDR5-6000 Pro OC series only comes in one kit (2x16GB) and will be available in 24GB density later in 2024.
The retail package follows the traditional packing with a carton box and plastic blister package for transportation hazards. In order to remove the product you need to cut down the package, meaning you won't get a secondhand product if the retail package is in perfect shape.
The 32GB kit, includes 2x16GB modules that include matt finish aluminum heat spreaders, without any RGB love. All eight Micron 16Gbit memory chips are located on one side of the PCB by a single-rank configuration. At the front, you will only find the Crucial/Micron logos
, while at the back, you will get the Crucial DDR5 Pro logo and product speed, cache latency, and serial number. The 1.1V stated on the label is probably a misprint since the memory kit needs 1.35V to reach DDR5-6000.
Installing the modules at a DDR5-enabled motherboard is not hard, just keep in mind the side with the memory modules should look like the CPU cooler. The low-profile heatspreaders make the modules compliant with JEDEC specs and you can use those modules are any mini ATX system. The overall build quality is great and you cannot go wrong with Crucial, since it has been one of the biggest memory manufacturers for many years. Due to the high bus efficiency of DDR5 technology, you can expect efficiency improvements that provide 36% more system bandwidth than DDR4.
