CyberLink Releases PowerDVD 6 Packs for DVD Enthusiasts
Mobility, MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC), and MPEG-2/4 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) Packs Take the Ultimate DVD Experience Even Further
CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader and pioneer in providing integrated solutions for the Digital Home, has released three enthusiast packs to enhance the experience of the ultimate DVD playback software PowerDVD 6.
The PowerDVD 6 Mobility Pack is designed for notebook road warriors, letting them extend DVD viewing time via a choice of three power-saving profiles. CyberLink's testing delivered an average increase of 20-30% playback time.
The PowerDVD 6 MPEG-4 AVC Pack lets PowerDVD 6 users play files created using the MPEG-4 AVC H.264 video compression format. The MPEG-4 AVC standard has been adopted for both Blu-ray discs and High Definition DVDs and is incorporated into CyberLink's own capturing and compression application PowerEncoder MPEG-4 AVC Edition.
The PowerDVD 6 MPEG-2/4 AAC Pack is designed primarily for the Japanese market and playback of digital TV supporting the MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format. The MPEG-2/4 AAC Pack also supports the playing of AAC files complying with the MPEG-4 AAC standard. This includes unprotected M4A and MP4 iTunes files.
"CyberLink is always looking for new ways to push the DVD experience beyond the expectations of our customers," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "These three PowerDVD 6 packs are an easy yet powerful way for users to enjoy their DVDs even more."
CyberLink PowerDVD 6 is available in two versions for the retail market: standard and deluxe. Standard version can be upgraded to Deluxe to support DTS Digital Surround, DVD-Audio, Dolby Digital EX, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx. PowerDVD 6 supports remote control navigation and features CyberLink's latest DVD image enhancement technology CLEV-2 and ultra-smooth playback via smart video deinterlacing technology.
