Fujifilm Introduces New Products for NAB

Cameras Apr 19,2006 0

Fuji Photo Film U.S. announced several new products for broadcast and video professionals that will be displayed at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas next week. The new Fujifilm products introduced on Tuesday include the Professional Grade High Definition Video (HDV) tape media and the Fujifilm branded Blu-ray discs expected to be commercially available by June and HD DVD discs, expected to be available later this year.

The Fujifilm Super DLTtape II Data Cartridges, compatible with the new Quantum SDLT 600A data tape system for video professionals will also be showcased at NAB.

Prototypes of the technologies introduced on Tuesday will be on display at the Fujifilm booth (#SU149, South Hall) in the Las Vegas Convention Center from Monday, April 24th through Wednesday, April 26th.

Other technologies on display in the Fujifilm booth include Fujifilm-developed media for the new Sun/StorageTek T10000 drive system, the highest capacity data tape storage drive commercially available.

Additionally, Fujifilm is sponsoring an NAB InfoSession, "Rescuing Yesterday: Analog Video to HD Conversion. How production companies and networks can preserve historic analog video content and revitalize it for the HD world" at 9:30a.m. on Tuesday, April 25th in North Hall, N232.

The panel will be moderated by Daisy Whitney, contributing writer for TelevisionWeek, and will focus on a broadcast industry that is wrestling with the need to identify, convert and archive or monetize millions of early broadcast tapes that today sit idle in video libraries and vaults.
