GEAR Pro for Unix supports the creation of DVD volumes in ISO 9660, Hybrid ISO/UDF and Rock Ridge formats using DVD-R, DVD-R(W) and DVD-RAM devices and optical media. In the Rock Ridge format, GEAR Pro for Unix allows for links, pipes and ``device special'' files with options for permission and group handling. The user can build a virtual image instead of physically copying every file and burn the project using less than 5% of the total CD image size. Recording directly from the virtual image, users can target virtually any recorder and utilize track-at-once, disc-at-once, test write, Burnproof, Justlink, fixation, multi-session and ``verify after write'' options. Other features include the support of batch files for unattended operation and the ability to generate log files that can be reused as batch files.
