Hitachi enters the CDRW/DVD combo arena

Hitachi manufacturered a new optical pickup (HOP-7001T model) for combo drives. It has one lens with 2 laser diode loading (Wave length:DVD 650nm and CDR/W 785nm). It supports 12x writing, 10x re-writing, 40x reading (CD) and 12x reading (DVD). Of course it supports DVD-RAM media reading. No info is out yet about when drives equipement with Hitachi's new pickup would be out… NULL
