HP Released $169 Slate 7 Android tablet
Hewlett-Packard on Friday started selling the $169.99 Slate 7 tablet with Android 4.1, aiming at Google's Nexus, Samsung's Galaxy Tab and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD.
Basic features include a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, five hours of battery life on video playback, 8GB of internal storage, a micro-SD slot, a 3-megapixel back camera, a VGA front camera and Wi-Fi. It i spowered by a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor running at 1.4GHz. Other features include Beats audio. The Slate 7 weighs 370 grams.
HP's latest offering is agressively priced, although the tablet relies on the Android OS to deliver music, movies and TV shows, while other tablets offer a suite of extra services and content.
