Norton Internet Security 2005 and Intermute's SpySubtract Pro pre-installed with free updates
for two months.
Pre-configured desktop systems will be available later this month, with custom configurations available in May. Pricing starts at $379 direct, after rebates.
Two new notebooks, the HP Pavilion zv6000 and the Compaq Presario R4000, include AMD processors, with Athlon 64 processors for 64-bit readiness and quiet performance. The notebooks also come with ATI Radeon Xpress 200M integrated graphics with up to 128MB discrete memory, ExressCard/54 PC card slots, and a 15.4-inch BrightView widescreen display. To round out the offerings, HP announced a new line of accessories to complement the updated PCs. New LCD displays include speakers and an anti-glare surface, and are available in 15-, 17-, and 19-inch models. The displays can be used on a stand or wall-mounted, and are priced starting at $229 (direct with rebate). HP's new optical mouse and wireless keyboard are $49.99 each.
