HTC To Add Biometrics In Upcoming Device
Leaked images of HTC's upcoming phablet (HTC One Max?) show that the Taiwanese compay will follow Apple in adding biometric authentication to a mobile device.
The device, which is expected to sport a 6.3-inch full HD display, appears to have a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, just below the rear-facing camera lens, according to pictures published online by Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo.
This one would be the third device to ship with biometric authentication, following the latest iPhone and Pantech's Vega LTE-A, which was launched in August.
Fingerprint scanners could replace traditional passwords using biometric authentication instead.
