Huawei’s Foldable Mate X 5G Smartphone Appears in Banner Ahead MWC Debut
While Huawei is planning to officially announce the foldable Huawei Mate X smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, the device has appeared in a banner.
The banner was posted by Twitter user @gimme2pm and confirms that the foldable device will be called the Mate X.
Huawei’s poster about “the world’s fastest foldable 5G phone” shows a device that appears to fold outwards to convert the single larger display into usable screen on both sides of the closed phone. This is a different approach than Samsung's in the Galaxy Fold, which features two screens -- a smaller one on the outside and the larger, folding internal display.
Huawei’s press event will be held on Sunday.
