Apple will launch the iPhone 7 on September 16, according to "reliable" leaker Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. Blass on Saturday Tweeted that the new iPhone will launch the week of September 12 and then specifying September 16 as the actual rollout date to consumers. The forecast makes sense and is added to previous similar reports, given that Apple typically kicks off a new iPhone around mid-September.

Apple phone sales dropped for the first time during the first three months of 2016 and likely did the same in the second calendar quarter. Apple will have to find a way to boost the sales, but reports say this year's iPhone will sport only minor changes -- the same design, dual speakers, a dual camera to the iPhone 7 Plus model. A significant design revamp, with glass enclosure and edge-to-edge screen, is reportedly set for the 2017 iPhone.

Independent from Blass’s report, a report from Apfelpage suggests Apple may not call the device the iPhone 7 after all. It says Chinese supply chain sources have seen packaging and labelling that indicates the new phone will be called the 'iPhone 6SE'.
