Japan Display Starts Mass Production of Ultra-slim FULL ACTIVE LCDs for Smartphones
Japan Display (JDI) has started the mass production start of a FULL ACTIVE LCD display for smartphones. The new display has a slim bezel design and a display aspect ratio of 18:9.
JDI says that the FULL ACTIVE LCD display was developed by adopting a new high-density wiring layout, and new processing and module assembly technologies. Combined, these new technologies enabled JDI to reduce the width of the bottom bezel to be as narrow as the other three sides of the display.
This newly-designed LCD 6-inch module (1080 x 2160) structure will allow the size of a smartphone device to be nearly the same as the display size.
In addition, this LCD module is JDI's proprietary second-generation Pixel Eyes, which has thinner borders, offers deeper black levels, and can operate even with wet fingers.
