Latests "Victim" of Windows 10 Update is Windows Media Player
The problems caused by the infamous Windows 10 October Update version 1809 are not over, with Microsoft to disclose that its own Windows Media Player is broken in the latest cumulative update.
"After installing this update, users may not be able to use the Seek Bar in Windows Media Player when playing specific files," Microsoft writes in its known issues document. "Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release."
Microsoft first had the Windows 10 October Update pulled from the public due to critical file-deleting bugs. The update was finally reissued in the middle of November. However, a bug related the the default apps in Windows 10 is still broken. Machines with Intel HD Graphics drivers are losing their sound . iCloud syncing is also broken.
The WMP bug should not be very worrying, since most PC users typically use third- party media players.
