LG to Add More Internet Features To Its Blu-ray Players

LG to Add More Internet Features To Its Blu-ray Players

Consumer Electronics Jan 5,2010 0

LG will announce new functions for its Blu-ray players at CES, offering online features beyond the existing CinemaNow, Netflix, Pandora and YouTube options. The new players will feature the NetCast Entertainment Access. Consumers will be able to use their LG Blu-ray player with Netcast and an Internet connection, select content from CinemaNow, YouTube or Netflix and enjoy it in a few moments.

The company also talked about downloaded content that could be part of a consumers'own media library. The players will also offer titles, genre artist and album information from an online database when a user is listening to an MP3 file.

WiFi, DLNA and internet access are also basic features of LG's new Blu-ray players.

The Korean company did not provide details of the hardware inside the new players. More information is expected at LG's CES keynote in mid-week as well as at the show itself, which begins on Thursday.
