LG Introduces White Version Of Nexus 4

LG Introduces White Version Of Nexus 4

Smartphones May 28,2013 0

LG today announced the launch of Nexus 4 White, the newest edition of the smartphone developed in collaboration with Google. Nexus 4 White features the same Android experience as the original Nexus 4, combining LG's hardware design and Google Services such as Google Now and Photosphere.

Nexus 4 White comes with a 4.7-inch 1280-by-768 True HD IPS Plus display (320ppi) supported by Zerogap Touch technology. At its heart is a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM.

The Nexus 4 White will go on sale in Hong Kong on May 29th, before rolling out in "select markets" in Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East in the coming weeks. LG did not clarify whether this Android flagship will be made available on Google's Play Store.

This is expected to be the last Nexus phone made by LG, according to Won Kim, the company's European VP. Speaking to AllAboutPhones, Wong said that the Nexus 4's success means that the company "does not need such a marketing success again". Previously, the Korea Times had reported that the Korean company would come up with a new model. LG's executive also said that the company is looking to get back in the Android tablet game in the near future, while Firefox phone shoould be also expected soon.

Meanwhile, LG's rival Samsung Electronics has confirmed the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, slated for release in the second half. The phone is expected to feature a versatile camera module with anti-shake technology and shutters. Samsung Electronics is set to pack the Galaxy Note 3 with a 13 megapixel, multi-function camera with possibly OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and shutter functions.

An official from Samsung Electronics' mobile communications division told ETnews.com: "We are pondering various technologies at this stage - for example, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and shutter functions. But, nothing has yet to be confirmed, so we cannot conclusively say that those functions will be added to the Galaxy Note 3."
