LG Set To VR Head-mounted Virtual Reality Device With Valve
LG Electronics is set to enter the VR HMD market, and will soon unveil its first prototype at this year's GDC in San Francisco.
The south Korean company is working with video game developer Valve to create its head-mounted virtual reality device, which uses SteamVR 3D tracking technology.
LG said it will make use of Valve's GDC booth to showcase an HMD capable of delivering "a high fidelity, next generation VR experience".
The move would place LG in competition with HTC, which teamed up with Valve to create the HTC Vive.
Last year, LG released the 360 VR headset for the G5 smartphone, but its popularity was very low.
