LG.Philips LCD Signs Supply Agreement With HP
LG.Philips LCD today announced it has signed an agreement with Hewlett-Packard to provide
notebook PC and monitor LCD panels over the next three years.
Under the agreement, LG.Philips LCD will be the primary supplier of LCDs for notebook PCs
and monitors from June 2005 to May 2008. This deal is a substantial increase over the
existing HP supply agreement.
LG.Philips LCD and HP formally announced their supply agreement during a signing ceremony on June 7th at the LG Twin Towers, which was attended by LG.Philips LCD Executive Vice President for Sales, Duke Koo and HP Personal Systems Group Vice President Kirk Moul.
Regarding the long-term deal, HP Vice President Kirk Moul said, ?This strategic agreement with LG.Philips LCD is a key to our continuing growth in the notebook and display market by enabling a stable supply of high quality and advanced technology products?
LG.Philips LCD Co.has won a US$5 billion order to supply LCD panels for Hewlett-Packard Co. To meet the growing demands of the market and this agreement, LG.Philips LCD will increase production at its sixth generation production lines and ramp-up of its seventh generation production lines.
