LG's XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 Smart Diaplay Combines Google AI and Smart Display With Meridian Audio

This week LG Electronics Inc. begins rolling out a powerful and intelligent speaker with a Smart Display that combines the capabilities of the Google Assistant with the sound quality from Meridian Audio.

The LG XBOOM AI ThinQ model WK9 will be available starting in the United States with markets in other regions to follow.

The Smart Display was developed in collaboration with Google to ensure that the WK9 builds upon the capabilities that come with having a Google Assistant speaker with the convenience of a touchscreen display.

Smart displays typically respond to voice commands like AI-powered smart speakers, but include a touchscreen display that can provide additional visual information or enable you to watch videos or make video calls.

The WK9 also leverages LG’s partnership with Meridian Audio to deliver high-fidelity sound, precise vocal definition and accurate bass, despite its compact size.

The device is equipped with a front-facing camera for video conferencing, stereo 20W speaker, and 8-inch touch display.

In addition, the LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 enables control of other LG ThinQ products in their home such as LG TVs and home appliances as well as more than 10,000 smart devices from over 1,000 brands that work with the Google Assistant.
The price is nominally $300, but LG's getting it off to a holiday start with a promotional price of $200.
