Hitachi Maxell announced the availability dates for 4X DVD+RW for video and 3X DVD-RAM discs. The DVD+RW discs are conformed to the DVD+RW standard and can hold up to 2 hours of High Quality DVD Video. On the other hand, the new DVD-RAM media are conformed to the DVD-RAM Version 2.1/3x-SPEED DVD-RAM Revision 1.0 standards. The 4X DVD+RW media is expected to be in the Japanese market from August 25th, while the availability of the new DVD-RAM is scheduled by July 25th. Pricing for both new media is not yet announced.
