MediaTek's MT3188, a multi-mode wireless charging integrated circuit (IC), is now commercially available. The reference design, which includes the power electronics, supervisory circuit, and resonator has already passed three certifications including the A4WP, WPC and PMA standards groups.

The MT3188 is compatible with the A4WP resonant wireless charging standard as well as the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA) inductive wireless charging standards.

The chipset is currently in mass production and will be adopted into products enabling multimode wireless charging – from smartphones and tablets to wearables.
