MET announces monthly sales report for Jan. 2003

MET announces monthly sales report for Jan. 2003

General Interest Feb 13,2003 0

M.E.T. technology Co.,Ltd. (OTC:6212) announced today that net sales for Jan. 2003 were NT$ 332,311 thousand, representing a 17.08 % decrease compared to the previous month, and a 16.55 % drop compared to sales of NT$ 398,225 thousand in Jan. 2002. The Sales Highlights:

1. Shipments of DVD+RW drive ( IT ) were at the mercy of a Shift in Speed from 2.4x to 4X ,and a part of CD-RW NSS ship in advance at the end of 2002 , which resulted in a decrease in the net sales of 17.1 % compared to net sales in Dec. 2002 of NT$ 400,772 thousand . These results were in line.

2. Reflecting strong holiday seasonal factor, shipments of CD-RW NSS and CD-RW drive were more than 400K and 40K respectively. Due to the fact that a larger number of 48x and higher CD-RW NSS and external H/H CD-RW Drive were sold at a higher ASP and higher margin rate, the gross margin rate increased significantly as expected when compared to figures for last Quarter.
