Micron's 1xnm DRAM Process Has Low Yields, Says Report

Micron Technology has faced a rough transition to 1xnm process for DRAM memory due to low yield rates, according to a report by Taiwan's Central News Agency.

Micron has not commencted on the report.

Samsung Electronics has also not completely sorted out issues with faulty 18nm PC DRAM modules, the report quoted market sources as saying. This means that a DRAM supply shortage coud be possible.

LAst month, Samsung started to recall certain PC DRAM module series, which PC OEMs found as the cause of blue screens while testing products. Samsung's faulty PC DRAM modules used 8Gb chips built using 18nm process technology.
