Microsoft To Bring Windows 10 to Public Sector Customers in China

Microsoft To Bring Windows 10 to Public Sector Customers in China

Enterprise & IT Dec 17,2015 0

Microsoft's latest development in China is a new joint venture that will license, deploy, manage and optimize Windows 10 for China’s government agencies and certain state owned enterprises. The new joint venture which is subject to regulatory approval in China and is provisionally called C&M Information Technologies, will be based in Beijing and will serve government agencies, as well as state owned enterprises in key infrastructure fields such as energy, telecommunications, and transportation. C&M is being established in partnership with China Electronics Technology Group.

C&M Information Technologies will act as the exclusive licensor for government and critical infrastructure state owned enterprise customers of a government-approved Windows 10 image, including Chinese capabilities such as government selected antivirus software.

It will provide product activation, patch management, deployment services and product support, as needed, to these government customers.

It will also collect feedback from these government customers on their specific use requirements to inform the creation of the successive updates of the government Windows 10 image, which may be developed by the joint organization.

HoloLens experience showcase opens for developers at the Microsoft Store in New York

In related news, the Microsoft HoloLens team announced the first ongoing HoloLens experience showcase for developers at the Microsoft Flagship Store in New York. Now, developers who have been wanting to try HoloLens will have the chance to experience the first fully untethered holographic computer, powered by Windows 10, for themselves. If you are a developer interested in doing so, request an appointment by visiting www.hololensevents.com.

The dedicated space at the new flagship store provides an opportunity for developers to experience HoloLens first hand and get started on creating HoloLens experiences. In New York, developers will get a taste of how HoloLens can enable new ways for people to communicate, create, work and play.

The Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition is shipping in Q1 2016.
