MWC 2014: HUAWEI Introduces Ascend G6 4G Smartphone, New MediaPad Phablets, Smart Bracelet Device
Huawei today unveiled two new additions to its MediaPad range of devices, the HUAWEI Ascend G6 4G smartphjone and its first wearable device at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2014.
The HUAWEI MediaPad X1 combines the functionality of a smartphone and tablet in an aluminum alloy unibody, at 239g and 7.18mm thin. Its 7-inch 1200 x 1920 FHD LTPS touch display features a 80% screen-to-body ratio. The device is
powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and it is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, while its 5000 mAh battery provides 21 days of standby time.
The MediaPad X1 also features a 13MP Sony Exmor R BSI rear-facing camera and panoramic shooting. Its 5MP front-facing camera with Huawei's proprietary self-focus tips, preview screen, 10-level auto-facial enhancement and voice-activated hands-free capture. The 'Voice Photo' function takes a photo accompanied by a 10-second audio clip that can be shared via Facebook and WeChat.
The HUAWEI TalkBand B1 features a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display, wireless calling with a Bluetooth 4.1 earpiece, up to seven hours of calls and 1.4-inch flexible OLED display. It supports Android 2.3+ and iOS 5.0+ compatible devices, and syncs via NFC.
TalkBand B1 wirelessly tracks activity time and progress, including steps taken, miles covered and calories burned. It records sleep duration and quality, while the smart alarm and nap functions assist rest.
Weighing 26g and 14.6mm thin, TalkBand B1 features a bendable curve design with a removable 9.4g earpiece. The 90 mAh battery lasts for six days and charges in two hours using the USB connector.
The HUAWEI TalkBand B1 is available in China from March 2014, and in Japan, the Middle East, Russia and Western Europe from Q2 2014.
The HUAWEI MediaPad M1 features an 8-inch 800 x 1280 HD IPS multi-touch capacitive screen with Huawei SWS technology, dual front-facing speakers and microphones. Powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and 4800 mAh capacity battery, it supports 8 hours of video playing on a single charge.
At 7.9mm, MediaPad M1's 329g aluminum body slips easily into pockets or purses. The 1MP front-facing and 5MP rear-facing auto-focus cameras enable easy snapping and photo sharing.
The LTE Cat4-enabled MediaPad X1 and M1 download work files in seconds and 1GB movies in one minute with speeds of up to 150 Mbps. In-built WiFi routers and 2.4/5G dual mode WiFi support with voice call and SMS capabilities provide on-the-spot connection. The AirSharing function enables screen sharing and the transfer of images via cloud photo sharing. MediaPads X1 and M1 feature the latest interface, Emotion UI 2.0, with customizable homescreens, enhanced 'Standard' and 'Simplicity' UIs and over 1,000 diverse themes.
The HUAWEI MediaPad X1 is available in China, Russia, Western Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Latin America from March 2014.
The HUAWEI MediaPad M1 is available from Q1 2014 in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, China, Japan, Asia Pacific, Australia and Latin America.
Huawei's new 4G LTE-enabled smartphone has a 4.5-inch qHD 960 x 540 LCD display and 245PPI, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and Emotion UI 2.0.
At 7.85mm slim and weighing 115g, the Ascend G6 4G builds upon the 'double C' design of the Ascend P6 smartphone and is available in black with light gunmetal grey or rose gold highlights, or in white with pink or champagne gold. HUAWEI Ascend G6 also comes in a 7.5mm 3G version available in black, white, pink, gold or blue.
The smartphone is running on a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, has a 2000 mAh lithium polymer battery with up to 30 percent power saving and of course, it is 4G LTE-enabled. Ascend G6 4G also supports NFC sharing for mobile payments.
The four plastic element (4P) lens featured on the 5-megapixel front-facing camera provides audio controlled spontaneous snapping, auto-scene recognition and auto-facial enhancement. Featuring 88 degree wide-angle shooting, Ascend G6 4G enables all-inclusive photos. Add an extra dimension with the 'Voice Photo' function that takes a photo and records a 10-second audio clip to accompany it, shareable via Facebook and WeChat.
Users can explore surroundings with multi-shot capture, horizontal shooting and panoramic functions, thanks to the five plastic elements (5P) lens of the 8-megapixel AF BSI f/2.0 aperture rear-facing camera. Alternatively, the voice-activated hands-free 'selfie' function shows off camera-ready poses. Filming or photographing in low light is easy with Ascend G6 4G's in-built Sony IMX134 sensor, blue glass infrared filter and integrated camera flash.
The HUAWEI Ascend G6 4G will be available from from April 2014.
Huawei also took the wraps off its Huawei E5786, a MiFi device that can offer downloads up to 300Mbps using LTE connectivity.
Upload speeds top out at 100Mbps, the company says. The MiFI supports Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and 802.11ac, and it can connect up to 10 devices to the carrier LTE network via Wi-Fi.
The device has a 3000mAh battery that offers up to 10 hours of use. And it also allows users to charge other devices connected to the MiFi.
The Huawei E5786 will be available the second half of this year.
