New Firmware For the Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive
Microsoft surprisingly released a new firmware update (probably the last one?) for the HD DVD add-on drive of the Xbox 360.
If you have an Xbox 360 HD DVD player, you?ll be prompted for an auto update the next time you watch an HD DVD movie (and your are signed into Xbox Live.)
This update includes compatibility improvements with certain titles and offers additional support for network features, according to information posted by Xbox Live's Larry Hryb in his official blog. However, since Hollywood has stopped offering online featurs for HD DVD titles, it is very interesting to see what kind of "network features" the new firmware will add to the HD DVD drive.
If you don?t have access to Xbox Live, this update will be available for download from Xbox.com later this week.
