New Lenovo Virtual Reality-ready IdeaPad Y910 Strikes Hard
Lenovo introduced to gamers the new IdeaPad Y910 gaming laptop at gamescom. It supports 4K and VR gaming. At the heart of a gaming rig are some critical components: a pro-level graphics card, a speedy processor, lots of RAM and a super fast hard drive. The IdeaPad Y910’s goes beyond these core components with the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB graphics card, up to a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 K series processor, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and up to fast solid-state drives (SSDs) and hybrid drives (SSHD).
For that extra edge while in-game Lenovo has added the one key turbo button that lets you instantly boost CPU performance, with no reboots needed.
In addition to its precision touchpad with anti-slip textured palm rest, the IdeaPad Y910 sports a high-accuracy mechanical keyboard with customizable macro keys, 2mm key travel, 1ms switch key response time, and anti-ghosting for simultaneous keystrokes. It’s even got programmable backlighting with multiple color combinations and lighting effects across seven individual lighting zones.
In addition, the IdeaPad Y910 includes up to high-speed Killer DoubleShot Pro Ethernet and Wi-Fi technology for reduced lag when gaming and streaming online. To top it off, Lenovo has designed the IdeaPad Y910 to handle the added heat all this extra power and speed produce during long gaming sessions. To do this, the Y910 features a self-regulating fan speed, new rear exhaust design, and air intake ports on the bottom of its 4.6kg brushed metal chassis.
And finally, gaming comes to life on a 17.3-inch Full HD (1920x1080) display with in-plane switching (IPS) anti-glare technology.
Other features include built-in 2x 2W JBL speakers and 3W subwoofer with Dolby Home Theater, as well as support for up to three separate displays.
VR-ready IdeaPad Y910 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 starts at €2799, available starting in November 2016.
