New Memorex Dual Format DVD Recorder with 8X recording speed
Memorex announces the launch of its new powerhouse Dual format DVD recorder that slashes the average time to burn a DVD disc in half. Destined to be a hot-seller this holiday season, Memorex's all new internal dual format DVD drive has it all -- including the industry's fastest recording speed -- making it the easiest and most fun way to record CD and DVD discs.
The Memorex 8X Dual-X Drive offers support for eight recording and playback formats, a sleek silver and black design, the industry's most complete software bundle, and a host of precision recording technologies designed to enhance reliability during high speed burns. The new drive writes to DVD+R discs at 8X, DVD-R discs at 4X and CD-R discs at 40X; rewrites DVD+RW discs at 4X, DVD-RW discs at 4X and CD-RW discs at 24X; and reads DVD-ROM at 12X and CD-ROM at 40X speeds. With performance like this, consumers can record a full DVD disc in less than 10 minutes.
In a retail package that takes the guesswork out of DVD recording, Memorex delivers an all-in-one solution that comes complete and ready for immediate use. Memorex bundles Roxio's digital media software suite with every Dual-X DVD Recorder, providing consumers with award-winning software that makes it easy for consumers to create Hollywood-style DVD movies, convert old VHS tapes to DVD, edit and save precious digital photos, and store data and audio files. This complete software suite includes Roxio's Easy CD & DVD Creator(TM) 6; full versions of Roxio's PhotoSuite® 5 SE, and VideoWave Movie Creator(TM); and the DVDMax(TM) Player software.
To ensure that consumers record high-quality CDs and DVDs every time, the Memorex 8X Dual-X Drive features state-of-the-art technology that continually stabilizes the drive and reduces the effects of vibrations caused by improperly balanced discs during high speed recording and playback. Particularly important in DVD disc authoring and recording, the Memorex Dual-X drive achieves significantly better overwrite performance than previous benchmark DVD recorders. Memorex accomplishes this by using an industry leading defect management system that allows discs to be rewritten many times over without causing a degradation of disc quality or sacrificing write performance. The Memorex Dual-X Drive also boasts a 70,000-hour MTBF -- nearly 40 percent better than the average competing drive -- and a 2MB buffer that ensures the even flow of data when writing to DVD discs. It also comes standard with a buffer underrun protection system that ensures uninterrupted recording and perfect discs.
Pricing and Availability:
The Memorex 8X Dual Format DVD Recorder will be in stores this month at a suggested retail price of $229.99. Memorex optical storage products include toll-free technical support and a limited one-year warranty.
