New NVIDIA nForce4 PCI Express Core-Logic Solutions Set Record Sales Growth

New NVIDIA nForce4 PCI Express Core-Logic Solutions Set Record Sales Growth

PC components Feb 15,2005 0

Entire Family of NVIDIA nForce4 MCPs Selling Strongly Driven by Demand for NVIDIA nForce4 SLI NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that the Company shipped more than one million NVIDIA nForce4 media and communication processors (MCPs), the industry’s most feature-rich core-logic solutions for AMD64-based computing platforms, since its availability in December 2004. In addition, the demand for NVIDIA nForce4 SLI technology is exceeding the Company’s high expectations, accounting for more than 25 percent of all NVIDIA nForce4 MCP shipments to date. This demand has resulted in the fastest sales ramp the platform group at NVIDIA has ever experienced, and helped NVIDIA grow its share of the AMD64 market to 48 percent, as reported by Mercury Research for the quarter ending December 31, 2004.

“Due to our innovative features and leading performance, NVIDIA nForce technology has won hundreds of editorial awards, providing our partners with the foundation to create a winning retail strategy,” said Drew Henry, general manager of platform products at NVIDIA. “With NVIDIA nForce4 SLI MCPs and our GeForce™ 6 series of graphics processing units, we’ve elevated PC performance levels once again, and further established our technology leadership position with the hard core gamers and PC enthusiasts.”

Like its brethren before it, NVIDIA nForce4 SLI and NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra MCPs have been lauded by the global editorial community, all of whom have been impressed by the Company’s decision to integrate features not provided by any other manufacturer. In addition to NVIDIA SLI technology, which Sander Sassen, editor-in-chief of Hardware Analysis, likened to the “iPod of the Computer Industry” (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/search/results/article/1772/), reviewers have lauded the Company’s other “firsts”, including NVIDIA ActiveArmor™, which provides end users with a hardware accelerated security firewall solution built directly into the silicon; support for the next-generation SATA 3Gb/s hard drives which will be hitting the market shortly; native Gigabit Ethernet networking, and advanced overclocking options through the use of the Company’s nTune™ software application.

Currently, there are more than 20 NVIDIA nForce4-based motherboards available from some of the world’s leading motherboard suppliers, including Abit, ASUSTeK, Biostar, Chaintech, DFI, ECS, Epox, Foxconn, Gigabyte, and MSI, with more product introductions anticipated from other companies over the next few months.
