New ZTE Grand S3 Smartphone Offers EyeVerify Authentication
ZTE today announced at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona that a new flagship device, the ZTE Grand S3, will be launched with an eye-based biometric solution from EyeVerify. The solution, Eyeprint ID, allows users a password-free method of unlocking the Grand S3. ZTE's Grand S3 is one of the first smartphones in the world to offer this solution.
Eyeprint ID offers ZTE Grand S3 users a password-free mobile experience. The olution works by imaging unique vein patterns in the human eye using the Grand S3's front facing camera.
Prior to its debut at Mobile World Congress 2015, the ZTE Grand S3 was initially launched domestically in China on January 17th, 2015.
Eyeprint ID will feature in upcoming devices in ZTE's Grand series, and will soon be integrated with mobile payment and other applications.
Key specs of the device include a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 5.5-inch full HD display, 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front facing snapper for selfies and video calling. There?s also 3GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, plus support for microSD cards up to 64GB.
The enhanced ZTE Grand S3 with Eyeprint ID is currently available for purchase online in China, priced at 2999 RMB.
