Nokia James Bond And HTC M8 Smartphones Coming: report

Nokia James Bond And HTC M8 Smartphones Coming: report

Smartphones Nov 15,2013 0

The next flagship Nokia handsets are codenamed Goldfinger and Moneypenny and will feature a '3D Touch.' Seperately, HTC's next flagship smartphone will pack a 5-inhc display, according to reports. Microsoft and Nokia are reportedly calling '3D Touch' a gesture recognition function, without touching the smartphones' screen. Users will be able to wave their hand over or point a finger at the display to drop a call or turn up the volume for instance.

According to @evleaks, Nokia's new phones will run on Microsoft's next generation mobile operating system and will also feature a personal assistant -- to challenge Apple's Siri and Android's Google Now -- currently codenamed Cortana after the

AI character in the "Halo" series of Xbox games. Microsoft and Nokia are expected to demonstrate these features at the Mobile World Conference which will take place in Barcelona, Spain next February.

@evleaks also reported that HTC's follow-up to this year's One flagship smartphone will feature a 5-inch 1080p display and will run the newest version of Android (Kitkat) at launch.

The M8's specs also include a Snapdragon 800 processor and possibly HTC's Sense 6.0, the newest version of the "skin" HTC puts over Google's Android operating system, along with a fingerprint sensor. The phone is expected to launch on all major U.S. carriers some time in the first quarter of 2014.
