Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS Graphics Cards Released

Nvidia has added the GeForce 8400 GS entry-level GPU to its GeForce 8 series of products, with its partners already having announced their proposals. The GeForce 8400 GS offers a lower memory bandwidth set to 6.4GB/sec ( 64bit). Other specifications include 16 stream processors, a core clock running at 450MHz and memory clock set at 800MHz.

In addition, the new graphics cards support Nvidia's PureVideo HD technology for HD video playback, DirectX 10, 16x full screen anti-aliasing and 128-bit floating point highdynamic-range lighting.

Nvidia's partners have already announced their implementations of the new GPU in their new products:

GALAXY: GeForce 8400 GS InnoVision GF 8400GS
Leadtek: WinFast PX8400 GS TDH
SPARKLE:SF-PX84GS128U2LP-HP (memory 128MB) and 256U2LP-HP. (memory 256MB)
XFX: PVT86S-WAQG
Chaintech: GSV84GS

SPARKLE and GALAXY are offering the cards in both 128MB and 256MB versions. Prices range from US $55-65.
