NVIDIA Integrated Graphics Processors Power New HP Notebook Lines

NVIDIA Integrated Graphics Processors Power New HP Notebook Lines

GPUs May 17,2006 0

NVIDIA today announced the new NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 integrated graphics processor (IGP) and NVIDIA nForce Go 430 media communications processor (MCP) are now available in the HP Pavilion dv2000 series and Compaq Presario V3000 series of notebook PCs. The HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario lines are the highest-volume of notebooks PCs from HP.

Thin-and-light notebook PCs have historically had relatively low graphics performance in order to adhere to the low power and thermal requirements required in smaller notebooks. However, new technologies and applications such as high-definition (HD) video and Microsoft Windows Vista require more graphics processing performance than common integrated solutions can deliver. The new NVIDIA notebook solutions promise excellent performance per watt, enhancing video playback and accelerating 3D applications within the low power and thermal budgets required for compact notebooks.

The NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 IGP and nForce G0 430 MCP offer support for the newly announced AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology, DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 and feature the NVIDIA PowerMizer technology for reduced power consumption. In addition, NVIDIA PureVideo technology offer hardware accelerated H.264 HD video playback. Last but not least, the chip is built for Microsoft Windows Vista.

The New GeForce Go 7200 GPU

In additional news, the new NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 GPU is now being offered as the enhanced graphics option for Intel processor based versions of the HP Pavilion dv2000 series and Compaq Presario V3000 series of notebook PCs.

The new AMD-based notebooks with systems will be available direct from HP via www.hpshopping.com. The new HP Intel-based notebooks will be available through the same outlets later this month.
