Nvidia has launched the 3GB GTX 1050, a new graphics card that shares elements from the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti.

The 3GB GTX 1050 splits the difference between

The already released GTX 1050 comes with 2GB of onboard GDDR5 memory while the GTX 1050 Ti has 4GB. The new 3GB GTX 1050 obviously adds some extra memory buffer in order to better handle modern games a bit better. On the other hand, the 3GB GTX 1050 only packs a 96-bit bus, compared to the 128-bit bus of its siblings.

Both the Ti and the new card pack 768 CUDA cores, while the original GTX 1050 only has 640. Nvidia ha salso increased the clock speeds in the new hardware, too. The 3GB GTX 1050 can boost up to 1,518MHz, compared to 1,455MHz for the original GTX 1050 and 1,392MHz for the GTX 1050 Ti.

Pricing or availability information for the 3GB GeForce GTX 1050 is still not confirmed, but judging from the prices of the original GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti, expect something in the $150-170 range.
