Nvidia SHIELD Coming June 27 For $299
Nvidia has cut the price of its SHIELD handheld console - the device will be available in the 27th of June for $299 instead of the $349 price tag that had been previously announced.
SHIELD was officially annouced in January at the Consumer Electronics Show. The device has a 5-inch 720p screen, it is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 SoC clocked at 1.9 GHz, 2 GB LPDDR3, it runs on Android 4.2.1 and offers 2x2:2 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi + BT 3.0, GPS wireless connectivity, 16 GB NAND, a microSD Expansion, a microUSB 2.0 a mini-HDMI and a 3.5mm headphone.
"We've heard from thousands of gamers that if the price was $299, we'd have a home run. So we're changing the price of SHIELD to $299," Nvidia said.
All those who have already pre-ordered SHIELD will be charged the new price.
