LG drives current modifications

- Overclock the LG-8320B (32/12/40) to LG-8400B (40/12/40)

Steps:

1) Download firmware for the LG-8400B.
2) Unload the contents of the LG-8400B drive in HD (important).
3) Get any HEX Editor, open Je4.exe and replace all ANSI-strings "8400B", they should be altered to "8320B" in order to the flasher to allow the procedure to go through.
4) Save changes to the firmware flasher.
5) Reboot in DOS mode, and flash the drive according to the flasher instructions
6) Reboot
7) Enjoy your new LG-8400B CDR-W drive

You could go back to the drive's original state if you follow the same procedure for the firmware updater of LG-8320B...

- Overclock the LG-8083B (4/4/32) to LG-8080B (8/4/32)

Steps:

1) Download firmware v1.06 for LG-8080B and the original firmware v1.06 for LG-8083B in case you need to go the drive back!
2) Get any HEX Editor ,load the firmware v1.60 for LG-8080B, and search for the sequence "GLC -DWRC DE8-80B0" which must be replaced with "GLC -DWRC DE8-80B3". Do the same procedure for "CD-RW CED-8080B" which must be modified to "CD-RW CED-8083B"
3) Save changes and flash the drive with modified firmware
4) Reboot
5) Enjoy your new LG-8080B (8x) CDR-W drive

You can always go back to 4x writing speed with the original firmware v1.60 for the 8083B.
