- Update the firmware on Traxdata 4120 with the latest Teac 55s firmware versions:
"..The easiest way is to immediately upgrade the Traxdata CDR4120 Pro to the latest Teac firmware available (1.0l) in binary format, which has been extracted from the original Teac updater program, using the utility called Scsi_flw.exe. Obviously this binary file is not officially released by Teac, it officially doesn't exist and perhaps someone could have some fear using it. However me and some friends of mine used it and we have no problem updating. If you decide to go back, the 50JA file contains the binary code to be used with the scsi_flw utility to flash the bios back to the original traxdata bios which you then can "normally" update to the latest traxdata bios.
The second way is a bit longer but uses files released officially by Teac. The latest Teac Firmware available use a Win9x application which looks for Teac burner, that is why it won't work directly when you have a Traxdata CD-Writer. But as often "look for in the past to go to the future!". First of all install Firmware (1.0g) from DOS using the Scsi_flw.exe utility, then use the Teac official updater to update your new Teac CD-Writer to the latest official Teac firmware available..."
