Cameras Feb 27,2006 0

Panasonic and Olympus will be revealing their new cameras produced in a joint development at the PMA 2006 International Convention and Trade Show as Sony introduced on Monday two new cameras. The two cameras are the result of an agreement announced on January 13, 2005, under which Olympus and Panasonic (through Matsuhita Electric Industrial Co.) agreed to jointly develop underlying technologies and key components, and promote the introduction of digital SLR camera product offered by the Four Thirds System standard.

Olympus will exhibit the E-330, a recently introduced product that incorporates jointly developed technologies, and Panasonic will announce the DMC-L1, its first digital SLR camera. A prototype of the DMC-L1 will also be exhibited.

Panasonic will reveal its first interchangeable-lens digital SLR camera, the LUMIX DMC-L1. The DMC-L1 is a compact digital camera that features a 2.5" high-resolution LCD screen and 7.5 million pixels. Additional specifications are available at the following link.

The recently introduced E-330, which is the first interchangeable-lens-type digital SLR in the world to offer full-time Live View framing via a rear-mounted LCD monitor. It is a 7.5 million pixel digital camera.

Sony also introduced this weekend two new cameras: the DSC-W100 as seen above and DSC-W70.

The DSC-W100 model packs an eight-megapixel sensor, and has a compact metal body. The DSC-W70 model has a maximum ISO setting of 1000, while the DSC-W100 model extends to IS0 1250. The DSC-W100 ships in April for about $350, and the DSC-W70 will also be available in April for about $300. Both models are available in black and silve.
