Pentax *istDS, Sony DSC-R1 Firmware Updates Available

Cameras Dec 1,2005 0

Pentax and Sony respecyively announced firmware updates for the *istDS the Cyber-shot DSC-R1 digital cameras. Version 2.00 for the *istDS incorporates many new changes including AF mode which has been added to Rec. mode, and auto sensitivity is now available in the ISO menu. There is now also an AE-L button on M in the custom menu. The firmware allows you to select the strength of the digital filters and adds Dutch and Swedish to the language options.

Sony also released the v2.00 for its DSC-R1 Cyber-shot. This firmware will fix a problem whereby a minute and irregular dot (or dots) of color or brightness appear in the recorded image. This problem is caused by incorrect image processing in the camera's firmware.

Only a limited number of cameras are affected by this issue. Be sure to check your camera serial number before applying this update.

You can update this software to solve problems or to add new functions to your still camera, by downloading a new firmware-file, copying it onto Memory Stick / Memory Stick PRO / CompactFlash card / Microdrive media, and inserting this Memory Stick / Memory Stick PRO / CompactFlash card / Microdrive media into the camera.
