Pioneer Releases $500 HTP-076 Home Theater Package

Pioneer Releases $500 HTP-076 Home Theater Package

Consumer Electronics Apr 10,2019 0

Pioneer & Onkyo are providing consumers with all the components needed to set-up an advanced home theater system with the HTP-076 Home Theater Package.

At the heart of the system is the Pioneer VSX-326 5-channel AV receiver with 80 W/ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.08 % THD, 2ch Driven FTC), a digital quad-core 32-bit DSP and a host of capabilities found in more expensive receivers.

In support of Dolby Atmos, the HTP-076 is compatible with a 3.1.2-channel set-up to create a 3D sound-field without having to install speakers in the ceiling. DTS:X allows for the flexible placement of speakers to enable optimized playback in a variety of layouts. Pioneer says that owners without Dolby Atmos speakers can still enjoy many of the benefits of object-based audio, thanks to two surround technologies: Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizerand DTS Virtual:X that simulate the output from ‘virtual’ height and surround speakers if they are not physically present in a room.

DTS Neural:X and Dolby Surround technologies also up-mix legacy “2D” soundtrack formats to simulate a surround-sound experience. Both receivers are designed to create 3D sound for movie soundtracks encoded on DVD, Blu-ray Disc or compatible video streaming services.

The HTP-076 supports pass-through for HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), and Dolby Vision signals. By connecting a compatible source device, you can enjoy these latest video standards on a compatible display. What’s more, all HDMI terminals support 4K (60p/4:4:4/24-bit), Wide Color Gamut (BT.2020), and HDCP 2.2, so you can enjoy premium content such as 4K videos with digital copy protection.

When using Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers, high directivity sound from the unit reflects off the ceiling, while low directivity sound directly reaches the ears. The different pathways cause a phase shift, making the sound feel uncomfortable. The Reflex Optimizer which uses the Phase Control technology adjusts this shift, and improves the localization of the sound image by aligning the frequencies with those of the floor speakers.

As a solution for the phase lag between the subwoofer and the main channel speakers caused by the bass management filter, Phase Control compensates the delayed bass to improve sound synchronization.

The HTP-076 is also equipped with Zone B audio output terminals for expanding the Main Zone sound by connecting your wireless headphone dock. You can listen to the sound playing in the living room via wireless headphones.

Thanks to a mid-range sound adjustment feature called “Dialogue Enhancement”, the HTP-076 can independently adjust the volume of predominantly mid-range sounds, such as the dialogue in films via the up/down key on the remote control.

Pioneer was among the first brands years ago to conceptualize the all-in-one benefits of matched audio/home theater components for consumers who cannot cherry-pick and amass all the separate elements involved.

The HTP-076 Home Theater Package is available at an MSRP of $499.00.
