Samsung to Bundle NeroLINUX with DVD/CD Recorders

Samsung to Bundle NeroLINUX with DVD/CD Recorders

Optical Storage Jun 2,2005 0

Samsung will be the first to bundle NeroLINUX with a DVD/CD burner, its TS-H552U WriteMaster. The bundle will be available as a retail kit. The Samsung TS-H552U WriteMaster drive supports 16X DVD+R, 16X DVD-R, 5X DVD+R DL, 4X DVD+/-RW, 40X CD-R and 32X US-RW.

"Our goal is to provide products like the TS-H552U WriteMaster and NeroLINUX to the growing LINUX community," said Jos Hageman, marketing manager at Samsung's European optical division. "Nero has helped us to achieve that goal providing a LINUX-based recording software application, and in doing that has opened up a new market to us in which we can now provide complete optical recording solutions."

"Partnering with Samsung to provide LINUX users with an optimal recording solution was an easy decision," said Jim Corbett, Executive Director of Nero AG. "Nero and Samsung are industry leaders and strive to deliver high-quality products wherever they are in demand."

NeroLINUX supports CD/DVD burning data and disc images, Bootable CDs and DVDs, Audio CDs with CD text, Mixed Mode CDs, CD-EXTRA, and Multisession.

The bundle of the Samsung TS-H552U WriteMaster with NeroLINUX will begin shipping June 2005 and will be available for a period of one month.
