Samsung Introduces Hard Drive-equipped MP3 Player
Samsung Electronics Co. turned its attention back on the domestic market this week.
It did so by releasing hard drive-equipped MP3 players under its Yepp brand after making initial forays overseas last year with the cutting-edge technology.
Yepp YH-920 received a surge of consumer interest in the United States and Europe when the company began exporting the model in August. Thanks to its 20-gigabyte hard drive, it is capable of storing over 5,000 songs and can also function as an external hard drive to facilitate large data storage, making it ideal for people working in design and IT industries.
For customers' convenience, Yepp YP-920 comes complete with a remote controller and a docking cradle for easy battery recharging. Integral features such as an 8-line display LCD, and blue EL backlight help users navigate their way through the machine's operating system in the dark. The product is expected to receive a warm welcome in the Korean MP3 player market, as customers respond to its user-friendly features that include built-in FM tuning and encoding, voice recording and automatic lyrical support. The retail price of this model is W399,000.
