Samsung My Recall The Galaxy Note 7 Batteries
Samsung Electronics could announce on Friday a recall program for the batteries of its newly-launched flagship premium smartphone Galaxy Note 7 that has raised safety concerns.
According to sources, the electronics giant is mulling a rare recall program for the smartphone released last month for both Korean and global consumers by offering free battery exchange and repair. The phone, however, won’t be refunded or exchanged to another model.
Samsung Electronics on Thursday after working-level discussion tentatively concluded that a defect in the battery is blamed for an explosion.
The problem batteries have been supplied by Samsung SDI Co., a battery making unit of Samsung Group.
