Samsung to Reveal New Quantum Dot Curved Monitors At IFA 2016

Samsung to Reveal New Quantum Dot Curved Monitors At IFA 2016

PC components Aug 29,2016 0

At IFA 2016, Samsung Electronics will release of its most powerful and visually-compelling curved gaming monitors yet – the CFG70 (24- and 27-inch models) and CF791 (34-inch model) displays. Samsung will formally introduce the latest additions to its curved monitor portfolio at its IFA press conference, scheduled for September 1.

As the first curved quantum dot gaming monitors, Samsung’s CFG70 and CF791 express great colors across a 125-percent sRGB spectrum, while employing an environmentally-safe cadmium-free design.

Each CFG70 and CF791 monitor undergoes factory calibration prior to shipment. This treatment includes optimization of various settings, including black gamma levels for enhanced brightness and white balance levels for temperature management.

Samsung’s quantum dot technology is already featured in the company’s UHD televisions.

The new CFG70 curved monitor incorporates user-friendly features. The monitor's "Super Arena" design aligns 1800R curvature with sound interactive LED lighting. This format also includes 1 m/s moving picture response time and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.

For added game management convenience, the CFG70 includes Samsung’s Gaming UX OSD interface. During competition, gamers can access the interface’s on-screen dashboard to view all essential settings, ranging from response time to refresh rate, in a single glance. They can also adjust gameplay settings through shortcut hot keys located on the front and back of the monitor.

With a 1500R curvature (indicating a curvature radius of 1,500 mm) design, Samsung’s CF791 is the most curved gaming monitor currently on the market. It features a 100 Hz refresh rate, embedded AMD FreeSync Technologyand a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Beyond its on-screen visual enhancements, the display’s boundless design removes visual distraction and helps gamers stay focused on the screen. Players also can customize the monitor’s alignment through a vertically-adjustable stand.

The CFG70 and CF791 monitors will be available in the U.S. in Q4 2016. Pricing for the CFG70 will start at $399 (24"), and $499 (27"), while the CF791 will be $999.

HW-K950 Soundbar Is Coming To Europe

Also at IFA Samsung will release its HW-K950 Soundbar featuring Dolby Atmos technology. Samsung will also unveil an improved version of its exclusive 'Samsung Multiroom' mobile application. Samsung Multiroom pairs with the soundbar and offers a more convenient way to enjoy its surround sound.

Equipped with a 5.1.4 channel system, the HW-K950 soundbar houses a total of 15 speakers, including main speaker set, rear speakers and subwoofer. The soundbar’s up-firing technology projects sound toward the ceiling, as well as horizontally across the room.

The soundbar includes accessibility features to support both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and listeners can control the soundbar using the Samsung Multiroom app on their smartphone or tablet. Any incoming calls or alarms will not interrupt the audio.

The upgraded Samsung Multiroom app also features a simpler interface that allows consumers to easily search for functions and content. With the app, users can access music for all sources, including saved playlists and their favorite music streaming services. Once a music source or specific song is selected from the display bar at the top of the screen, a mini-player, located just below the display bar, can be used to play, pause or change the volume of the song.
