Samsung Reveals its Curved UHD TVs, Galaxy NotePRO, New ATIV Book 9, ATIV One7 And TabPRO Series at CES 2014
At CES 2014, Samsung puts the curve into UHD TVs, announced the Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablets, the ATIV Book 9 and the ATIV One7 2014 Editions.
Samsung has already announced its 105-inch Curved UHD TV, with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio with 11 million pixels for a 5,120?2,160 screen resolution. Additionally, viewers can experience a 3D effect without glasses with the new Auto Depth Enhancer feature. Samsung's UHD TV experience is further enhanced through new proprietary technologies including PurColor technology, which expresses more detailed shades, and a UHD upscaling process that converts HD and Full HD content to near-UHD quality.
The company also announced the Samsung U9000 Series Curved UHD TVs, which inlcude 65-inch and 55-inch Curved TVs.
Through its three UHD TV series - S9, U9000 and U8550 ? in 2014 Samsung will offer a full lineup of UHD Smart TV models in sizes from 50" up to a 110", and both curved and flat form factors.
The company also showed its "Bendable TV" concept, which allows viewers to switch between a curved and flat screen at the touch of a button.
Samsung also released its first "evolution kit" for UHD TVs. The evolution kit - available both for selected HD and all UHD TVs - is effectively a brain transplant for the TV, to make sure it works with the latest standards and is powered by the newest technology.
Samsung's TVs are also becoming even smarter, with a new Multi-Link feature that brings contextual multitasking to the big screen, as well as a newly designed Smart Hub. The 2014 Samsung Smart Hub includes a Games Panel, which allows users to enjoy big-screen games from Electronic Arts (EA) and Gameloft. Smart TV performance is further enhanced with Samsung?s upgraded Quad Core processor, QuadCore Plus, which performs at twice the speed of its predecessor.
Through its co-operation with content providers such as Amazon, Comcast, DIRECTV, M-GO and Netflix, Samsung will offer its customers a range of UHD content. Film director Michael Bay, who joined Samsung's CES press event, stated that the Samsung Curved UHD TV will give audiences an all-new way to enjoy movies at home. He also announced that he will exclusively release the first preview of his "Transformers 4" movie on Samsung UHD TV.
Productivity and portability put the "PRO" into Samsung's new line-up of GalaxyPRO tablets. The Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO feature 12.2-inch WQXGA displays, each one incorporating more than 4 million pixels. They have a viewing area that is 48-percent wider than traditional 10-inch tablets.
A personalized Magazine UX, specifically optimized for a large screen, allows users to further tailor their Galaxy tablet experience for their own needs. The UX enables them to organize their favorite content in a dashboard with automatic feed or news updates and then quickly access the most frequently used apps. By utilizing a screen size that is more comparable to traditional magazine-sized material, content is easier to view in its original format when reading digital magazines or e-books.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO (12.2) come equipped with a variety of productivity tools.
Multi Window enables users to split the screen up into four different windows and a Virtual Keyboard provides them with enough space to type comfortably, leveraging haptic feedback.
The Samsung S Pen included with the Galaxy NotePRO delivers a more responsive tablet experience with access to features such as Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder. In addition, Pen Window enables users to simply draw a window of any size on the screen, and instantly access in-application features such as YouTube or a calculator.
Users can access and control their home or office PC directly through their Galaxy NotePRO or TabPRO with Remote PC in order to edit and save files remotely.
The Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO also come pre-loaded with Cisco WebEx Meetings platform, the web conferencing solution. And now for the first time on Android tablets, users can share anything on their screen as well as starting a WebEx meeting from contact list.
For additional value and productivity right out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO (12.2) will feature up to approximately $700 worth of the premium pre-paid, long-term subscription offers from news, social media and cloud storage providers, including: Bitcasa, Bloomberg Businessweek+, Blurb, Cisco WebEx Meetings, Dropbox, Easilydo Pro for Tablet, Evernote, Hancom Office for Android, LinkedIn, LIVESPORT.TV, NY Times, Oxford Advanced Learner's A-Z, and Sketchbook Pro (content packages may vary by region).
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO line will come in various connectivity options: WiFi Only, WiFi and 3G, or WiFi and LTE. Users can choose between the 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePRO that comes with an included S Pen, and the 12.2-inch Galaxy TabPRO, Galaxy TabPRO 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch without the S Pen.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablet line will be offered globally and will be available starting from Q1, 2014.
Both models sport productivity features like Multi Window that allows users to view up to four windows on their screen at once, Remote PC, interactive e-meetings and video conferencing. The optimized virtual keyboard leverages haptic feedback.
The Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO will come with a selection of pre-loaded or free downloadable premium apps, content and services for the ultimate user content gift package.
Samsung's new ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition is a Windows notebook equipped with a 15.6" display that offers a 20 percent brighter, 125 percent higher definition display than the previous generation Book 9 with wide-angle viewing. In addition to its enhanced display, the ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition provides users with a 14-hour battery life. The ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition also comes with the pre-installed SPlayer+, an exclusive lossless audio player that works in conjunction with high performance Wolfson DAC chip.
The redesigned SAMSUNG ATIV One7 is a multimedia hub for the entire family. With a large storage capacity of 1TB, the ATIV One7 2014 Edition acts as a secure cloud service, allowing users to access and save photos, movies, music and documents anytime, anywhere through Samsung Link.
Bluetooth Music Play lets users enjoy streaming high-quality music from your smartphone through the ATIV One7 2014 Edition?s two 7-watt speakers with Tweeter by simply connecting devices via Bluetooth even when PC is powered off.
The ATIV One7 2014 Edition has a 24-inch full HD screen, complete with 178 degrees free angle viewing and anti-reflection (as well as surround sound with Dolby Home Theater). Users can even turn the PC into a large-screen HDTV or monitor with HDMI-in/out and HDTV ports.
