Samsung Unveils New GALAXY Note 10.1, GALAXY S WiFi 4.2 And Component Solutions at MWC 2012

Samsung today showcased technologies for mobile applications as well as new products at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. "We are pleased to showcase our wide range of products, which emphasize our focus on smart mobility and are set to drive next-generation applications of the mobile market", said Yunshik Kim, president of Samsung Semiconductor Europe. "From state-of-the-art application processor Exynos, Samsung's most advanced smartcard chip solutions, high-quality image sensors, and the most advanced mobile memory technologies, we aim to embrace future design development and product performance to meet the needs of leading mobile designers for advanced mobile component solutions."

Samsung showcases its latest smartcard technology, with particular focus on the industry-first contactless solution fully compliant with the Open Standard for Public Transport (OSPT) specification. Highlighted among Samsung's Finance, Security & ID (FSID) product lineup, the new solution perfectly illustrates the interoperability of OSPT, as the first commercial alternative to existing proprietary solutions for the transportation market.

Samsung also showcases the new 64-gigabyte (GB) embedded multimedia card (e-MMC) based on 20nm-class NAND flash memory and 30nm-class LPDDR2 (low power double-data-rate 2) DRAM. These two chips also combine to create a space-saving embedded multi-chip package (eMCP) memory solution, to suit the tight form-factor requirements of advanced mobile devices.

Samsung has also on display Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), its 10.1-inch variant, along with a new Galaxy Beam smartphone Samsung also offered the LTE versions of the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 for Telefonica's LTE demonstration at Mobile World Congress 2012 .The handhelds are going to become the first mobile devices in the world to support the 2.6GHz LTE frequency band.

Samsung also unveiled the GALAXY Note 10.1. The device has a 10.1 display with multi-screen functionality. GALAXY Note 10.1 features S Note, a tool that lets you combine notes or sketches together with web content, images and other digital media into your own personalized storyboards. Also, hand-drawn geometric shapes can be digitized by using the Shape Match function, which helps users to create more organized idea sketches and storyboards. Moreover, by using the S Note's integrated knowledge search engines, users can quickly search, obtain information, and easily drag & drop the cropped images and content onto S Notes without having to switch between screens.



The device is also featuring a photo editing and drawing experiences with Adobe Photoshop Touch and Adobe Ideas. Photoshop Touch lets users transform images with core Photoshop features and combine multiple photos into layered images, make edits, apply professional effects, and more. Adobe Ideas is a drawing tool that allows users to sketch ideas, choose amazing color themes and import images. Both are specially optimized for S pen and are exclusively pre-loaded on Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1.

GALAXY Note 10.1 runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and features a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and HSPA+ connectivity.

Samsung also introduced the GALAXY S WiFi 4.2. The smartphobe features a 4.2" WVGA (480x800) IPS TFT display, it is powered by an 1 GHz processor and features the SoundAlive audio system for great sond either through a front stereo speaker or headphones. A gyroscope sensor enables the user to control the device by moving it, providing engaging gaming.
