Seagate Announces New Cloud, Storage Services
Seagate is rolling out the Cloud Systems and Solutions group, which will offer enterprise-grade, scalable cloud service architecture.
The company's new division will be responsible for the delivery of hard drives, solid-state hybrid drives, SSDs, external storage solutions, recovery services, cloud services and fully integrated cloud systems.
Seagate's new storage portfolio includes the Seagate ClusterStor 9000, a high performance Lustre-based solution for Big Data customers, as well as the Seagate EVault, an enterprise backup and recovery appliance. The Seagate EVault was tweaked to accommodate up to 100 terabytes of usable capacity.
The company also launched a PCIe flash accelerator card ? the Nytro XP6302 and its eight generation of enterprise hard drives.
"Organizations are looking for cost-effective ways to harness data and create actionable information. Seagate is bringing an open approach to the Intelligent Information Infrastructure program," Jamie Lerner, president of Cloud Systems and Solutions at Seagate.
