Seagate Launches First 750GB Hard Drive

Seagate Launches First 750GB Hard Drive

PC components Apr 26,2006 0

Seagate announced the highest capacity 3.5 inch hard-drive to the market. The Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 offers 750GB storage achieved through perpendicular technology. The new drive is available with 8 or 16MB cache and ATA/100, SATA 1.5Gb/s or SATA 3Gb/s interfaces. The MSRP for the 750GB 7200.10 is $559 and it is covered by a 5-year warranty.

Seagate takes advantage of the perpendicular recording technology to achieve the 750GB of storage space. Perpendicular recording technology supports vertically stored data bits, enabling increased areal density and dependability for workstations and performance PCs.

The Barracuda 7200.10 features Seagates SoftSonic motor to reduce noise and enhanced G-Force protection. The Adaptive Fly Height offers consistent read/write performance from the beginning to end of computing workloads.

Seagate also announced the first 15k (300GB) hard disk drive last week.
