Skype for Windows Mobile 2.5 Gold Released
Two months after the release of 2.5 Beta, Skype is offering the Gold version of the popular software.
The final version offers improved sound quality especially when you call from a WiFi zone, allows you to make free Skype-to-Skype calls and send and receive instant messages after logging in to any WiFi zone.
The "Pay As You Go" credit or monthly subscriptions allow you to save on calls to landlines and mobiles abroad from your Windows Mobile phone.
Skype 2.5 for Windows Mobile works on all Smartphones and Pocket PC phones. You can download it directly on to your phone and install it straight away, or you can save it to your PC and transfer it on to your Windows Mobile device.
Skype is also previewing the first beta of Skype for Windows Mobile 3.0 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today. It includes two new features: SMS and file transfer. With 3.0 Beta, you can send text messages from your phone at Skypes low rates, and send and receive files with your Skype contacts around the world. Skype plans to release 3.0 Beta in March.
Thhe company has been also working together with Sony Ericsson and has developed a Skype Panel for the Xperia X1, which tells you at a glance which of your contacts are online. Itll be available for download in March.
