Snap New Spin on Painting With Damien Hirst Lens

Snap New Spin on Painting With Damien Hirst Lens

Enterprise & IT May 4,2020 0

Snapchat is launching a new augmented reality experience created in collaboration with renowned artist Damien Hirst.

Inspired by his Spin paintings, this Snapchat lens allows everyone to make their own spin paintings, right from home. "Pour virtual paint as your canvas spins to make millions of possible creations," Snap says.

Hirst first experimented with spin art in 1992 at his studio in Brixton, London, and began his Spin Painting series in 1994 while living in Berlin. At the first exhibition of Hirst’s machine-made spin drawings, visitors were invited to make their own drawings on a spin machine, democratizing the experience of making art. Now, the Snap community worldwide can try their hand at this iconic art through the lens of Snapchat’s camera.
