Sony PS4 Tops November Console Sales
Sales tracking firm NPD reported that the PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One in North America during November, although Microsoft's Xbox One is the fastest selling console on the market in the U.S.
According to NPD's figures, the Playstation 4 is in 2.1 million homes compared to the Xbox One's 2 million.
"Demand continues to overwhelm supply, but we're working hard to get PS4 units into the hands of customers throughout the holiday season," said SCEA head Jack Tretton.
NPD said that 909,132 Xbox One units were sold in the U.S. in the console's first nine days, making it the fastest selling console on the market in the U.S. Xbox One sales averaged a volume of 101,000 consoles per day.
"Demand for Xbox One is continuing to exceed supply in our 13 launch markets and is sold out at most retailers around the world," said Microsoft, adding that the Xbox team was working to meet consumer demand, delivering consoles to retailers as fast as possible.
